Here is a great tip to stop odour forming in your trainers
Hi there and thanks for visiting.
Another common question we get at this time of year apart from how to remove cat urine or dog urine odours is how to get the stink out of trainers, running shoes, and teenagers shoes where they do not wear socks.
I have a fantastic tip to stop the odours forming (start with a clean pair of trainers) and its cheap and easy to do. When you finish wearing the trainers and just before you put them away in the wardrobe, spray the inside with "METHS" .Meths will kill the bacteria and keep the shoe as fresh as the day you bought them. It works so well it amazes me each time I pull my shoes out of the cupboard (I do not wear socks with my trainers and they smell very good now all the time)
If you are starting with a smelly pair of trainers use Odarid Pet Stain and Odour remover on them first by spraying inside the shoe then then put them in the wash or in a bucket to soak with half a scoop of washing powder. Rinse and dry and they will be like new. (Bad contaminations may need a little scrub after you spray the Odarid inside them and a little warm water) before soaking
Give it a try . It really works well

Box hedging or garden that reeks of urine???
When cats pee in, on and around box hedging, the hedge absorbs the urine and puts the odour out through the leaves. Spraying the hedge with Odarid is a temporarily solution as it does not get to the source of the problem and will only temporarily mask the cat urine or pet urine odours. If you could spray the hedge every time the cats spray it would be fine but that is not feasible. In the last week or so we have fielded more calls on this subject so here is the trick that I use to remove cat urine from my hedge Box hedging is so popular now and the cats seem to like using it as a toilet!

Solution : Give the hedge a generous liquid feed either at the roots and on the plant. (Be generous) Make sure it is a liquid feed that is suitable for hedges i.e Nitrosol or Thrive. Once you have "ferted", give the hedge a generous drink then water the hedge every day for 3-5 days. The plant will ingest the fertilisers and water and before long will come back to smelling like a fresh hedge again.
Smelly BBQ cover and pavers???
Keeping the outdoor entertaining area smelling fresh and clean this summer is important. There is nothing worse than sitting back on a summers evening, admiring your days work with a sly Sav Blanc, when your partner, guest, family member etc comments that the wine tastes a bit catpeeish. The wine is fine but the cat urine infested BBQ cover and paved area is emitting cat urine odour and its upsetting the wine!!!
Solution : Solve that problem with our new urine neutraliser which works brilliantly on concrete and can be diluted up to 5-1 with water. It oxidises residues and removes the smell. It also is great for BBQ covers which cats love to target when they are marking their territory (use neat). Our new formulation Pet Stain and Odour Remover. How to stop flies in your yard or kennel
Fly Time Ugh I hate flies!!
The flies are upon us again and now is the time to put out your traps to get rid of the little swines. Always ensure your trap is hung in full sun and if activity slows down give it a shake or add a very small amount of cat food or fish to the trap. There is a small hole at the bottom of the inlet that you can push a small amount of food into. Doing this will fire things up again. When it is really hot you will not need to bother.
Want proof they work?? This was filmed two days ago in Auckland with a trap left out for ONLY TWO DAYS

We also have the large jumbo traps now for those who want to recycle the contents (great fertiliser I am told) and reuse the container over and over. Just keep adding baits and away you go

How to findcat or dog urine without a black light or even getting onto your knees.
1. The most common question we get is how to locate the urine contamination. This applies to fresh or old contaminations. First hot tip is DO NOT waste money on black lights or the like. They do not work on carpet and where they do work i.e on walls the naked eye can detect the urine anyway so here is a technique that you can apply that is gurantee and waste money on black lights,
Buy a bottle of Odarid Pet Stain and Odour Remover and simply spray it around until you see some foaming. Foaming indicates old urine (does not work on new urine sorry)

Hot carpet stain removal tips
Try our other website www.carpetstains.co.nz or try these new tips or read on
The other day I received an email from a very distressed lady who had spilt sardines on her carpet and had a stain plus a very oily residue. Oil in carpet will stain, hold odour and attract dirt for many years to come . I also had a call from someone else who had very strong strawberry jam dye in the carpet plus a another call where gym equipment had leaked grease onto a cream carpet, I have a solution for all these and its cheap and easy to do.
Here is a great way to remove difficult stains in your carpet safely and effectively (Does not do cat urine, faeces or wine I am sorry to say) Use our petstain and odour remover for those stains
The best kept secret in the industry
Use a product called WD40 (made in Australia but available from your local hardware store)
This product is designed to protect metals and loosen rusted bolts etc but it is amazing on carpet (Safe to use but always spot treat first) for stains. It will remove permanent inks, grease, oils and strong dyes (need two to 3 applications) Apply the product then use a soft towel and apply pressure to soak up residues
